Joe Putnam started his company in Burlingame, California; the Putnam bloodline has been associated with new vehicle showrooms and used car lots in the Bay Area of San Francisco. Over the decades, the vehicle (automotive firms) sector has exploded into a dewell-developed industry. Vehicle manufacture and innovation have aided the industry’s expansion into a lucrative one. Automotive Group

After seven years, Joe relocated to California and bought Charlie Howard’s Putnam Buick from him; Charlie Howard is best known for being the owner of the thoroughbred Seabiscuit. Joe was born in 1934 on a modest farm in South Dakota and grew up through one of the harshest economic eras, the Depression Of the 1930s. In 1958, Joe became a partner in his own Buick, Cadillac, and GMC dealership in Devils Lake, North Dakota, launching his career in the auto industry.

Putnam Automotive Group

Putnam Jeep Dodge Chrysler Service Center opened on Bush St. and Van Ness in San Francisco, while Putnam Dodge Chrysler Jeep Sales and Service opened in Burlingame. In 1987, Joe grew and added the Putnam Mazda business. Shortly after, Martin, his grandson, was appointed as a Redwood City Charter Dealer for Putnam Lexus. Quinnipiac Toyota.

 Putnam Volvo, and Putnam GM are run by his son Kent.
